Wesley So takes the gold on board 1

Here are the medalists by board in the World Youth Chess Olympiad 2008. Most medals went to the team champions from India, the team of Azerbaijan, and the hosts from Turkey. The gold on board one was for Wesley So.

Silver: Eltaj Safarli (Azerbaijan)

Bronze: Aleksandr Shimanov (Russia)

Gold: S P Sethuraman (India)

Silver: Vasif Durarbeyli (Azerbaijan)

Bronze: K O V Kotthahachchy (SriLanka)

Board 3

Gold: Sundar M Shyam (India)

Silver: Demre Kerigan (Turkey B)

Bronze: Haik G Vardanian (Armenia)

Board 4

Gold: Giorgi Nikolashvili (Georgia)

Silver: Benedict Hasenohr (Switzerland B)

Bronze: Ogulcan Kanmazalp (Turkey A)
