The first ever FIDE Trainers’ seminar was held online, 03-05.03.2017. The seminar was co-organised by the FIDE, the European Chess Union (ECU), the FIDE Trainers’ Commission (TRG), the German Chess Federation (BCF), the Berlin FIDE Trainer Academy (FTA) and the ChessBase GmbH.

The main purpose was to educate and certify Trainers and Chess-Teachers all over the world, on an international basis. By today TRG has conducted 231 live seminars all over the world and certified 5.064 Trainers.

Now it was time for the first internet seminar, in which 29 trainers attended! These trainers represented 22 federations, as follows: Argentina, Azerbaijan (2), China (2), Cuba, Denmark, England, Germany (3), Hungary (3), India (2), Lebanon, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, Peru, Romania, Russia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Turkey and United States of America (2).
