Global Chess Festival 2017 Print

The Global Chess Festival 2017 (14th October in Budapest) was an excellent organization and definitely the greatest mass chess event of the year worldwide.
It’s motto "Chess connects us" is expressing a lot!
We could see on the chess map over 100 cities of five continents directly involved with parallel chess events connecting millions of chess lovers.

The Opening Ceremony would have deserved a big concert hall or theatre hall. The opening shows and speeches should appear on big screens when there is so huge interest. There were a lot of folks standing outside on the street and twice as many people stayed at the other premises. By my personal impressions, the brightest performance was the Journey of the Queens composed and directed by Jason Kouchak (FRA). It (or something similar) should be performed at Chess Olympiads or any other great tournaments.
The whole event should have been transmitted on-line by TV channels and on all the biggest internet chess sites.
The event provided a lot of entertainments for families and unique opportunities to compete for the children.
