FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Al Ain, UAE |

From 25 to 30 December 2008 a FIDE Arbiters' Seminar was organized in Al Ain, UAE, by the Asian Chess Federation and the Al Ain Chess Club, under the auspices of FIDE. The Seminar took place in the Conference Hall of Hilton Hotel of Al Ain, UAE. The Lecturers were IA Panagiotis Nikolopoulos (GRE), Chairman of FIDE Arbiters Council and IA Casto Abundo (PHI), Vice President of the Asian Chess Federation. Assistant was IA Hassan Khaled (EGY) and observer was Lakhdar Mazouz, chairman of FIDE Verification Commission. 16 people from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tajikistan, Maldives, India, Iran, Korea, Egypt and Bahrain participated in the Seminar and 15 participated in the examination test.
The following four(4) succeeded in the test and will be awarded the title of FIDE Arbiter after the approval of the next FIDE General Assembly:
