FIDE Arbiters' Seminar in Subic Freeport, Philippines Print

From 13 to 18 May 2009 a FIDE Arbiters' Seminar was organized in Subic Freeport, Philippines, by the National Chess Federation of Philippines and under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation.

The Lecturer was IA Casto Abundo (PHI), Deputy President of the Asian Chess Federation, and Assistant Lecturer was IA Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh (IRI), Treasurer of the Asian Chess Federation, with guest speaker Mr. Florencio Campomanes, FIDE Honorary President.

18 people from Philippines participated in the Seminar and in the examination test that was held after the end of the lectures and was conducted by IA Mahdi Abdulrahim, member of the FIDE Arbiters' Commission.

The following eleven (11) succeeded in the test and will be awarded the title of FIDE Arbiter after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:
