Kambuzia Unanimously Elected President of Iran Chess Federation |

 Mohammad Jafar Kambuzia was unanimously elected President of the Iranian Chess Federation. Kambuzia was former president of the Iranian Chess Federation from 1996 till 2003. A civil engineer by profession, he erected over 30 chess buildings in major cities around Iran. In Tehran he built the Iran Chess Palace, a big complex for chess including the headquarters of the federation, tournament halls, libraries, lecture rooms and a sport hotel. Kambuzia was elected by member clubs yesterday by a vote of 42 to zero against another candidate. Among the many events he organized, Kambuzia brought the final Anand-Shirov World Chess Championship 2000 to Tehran.
