From 22 to 26 May 2010 a FIDE Arbiters' Seminar was organized in Al Ain, UAE, by the Al Ain Chess Club, in association with the UAE Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE. The venue of the Seminar was Al Ain Chess Club.
The lecturer of the seminar was IA Hesham El Gendy (EGY), Councilor of the FIDE Rules and Tournament Regulations Commission.
26 people from Jordan, Libya, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Egypt attended the seminar and 19 of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures. The following twelve (12) succeeded in the examination test and will be awarded the title of FIDE Arbiter (according to the article 3.10 of the regulations for the titles of Arbiters) or a norm for the title of FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:
