FIDE Trainers' Seminar in Cali, Colombia Print
Thursday, 25 November 2010 07:44

A yet another successful FIDE Trainers' Seminar was held from 10th to 14th November 2010 in Cali, Colombia. It was collaboration between the FIDE Trainers' Commission (TRG) and CACDEC. The Seminar was conducted in Spanish language.
Participation was extremely high, with 45 coaches from eight countries participating: Cuba, Brazil, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Peru, Venezuela and Colombia!
Lecturers/Seminar Leaders FT & WGM Martha Fierro and your reporter – FST & GM Alonso Zapata are very pleased with the excellent hosting of the organizer and the enthusiasm of all the participants.
It was a high-level seminar with highly qualified participants, among which three Grand Masters and eight International Masters.
The Seminar venue could not take the number of coaches who expressed their wish to attend, with the organizer having to settle for the maximum of 45. There is a great need for qualified and certified coaches in Latin America by TRG FIDE.
We studied all the topics from the excellent TRG publication "FIDE Trainers' Commission Chess Syllabus", written by seven senior authors.

All the participants were very satisfied and excited. The results of the final examinations were pretty good.

Within the framework of the seminar, in addition, there was a conference on the study: "Cognitive impact of the practitioners of chess".
