The first FIDE Trainers' Seminar held in Peru took place in Lima from November 3-6. It attracted 17 participants from Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Mexico. It was such an important opportunity for Latin American coaches to get officially certified by the FIDE Trainers' Commission with the titles of FIDE Instructor, National Instructor, and Development Instructor, after successful participation in the seminar and passing the final examination. The Seminar was held in Spanish language by FT/IM/WGM Martha Fierro and was organized by the Peruvian Chess Federation with the collaboration of FIDE. On the 2nd day of the Seminar, the participants had an incredible surprise, the visit of the FIDE President Mr. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, together with the President of the America's Mr. Jorge Vega! With no doubt this unforgettable visit brought a lot of extra motivation to the trainers and it proved once again the support FIDE has toward supporting Latin America.
