fide trainers seminar

The first FIDE Trainers’ Seminars in Baltic region was held from 17 th to 19th September 2013 in the Hotel/Sanatorium “Amber Beach Resort” in the famous resort Jurmala on the Baltic Sea. 12 coaches (9 from Latvia, under them 7 from the Riga Chess Academy incl. the Head of the Academy Mrs. Liga Ungure; and 3 from Russia, under them 1 GM) participated in the Seminar. Most of them were very experienced Trainers and Coach. Lecturers/Seminar Leaders: Main Lecturer, FST & WGM Igor GLEK (GER) and Assistant – FT & GM Arturs Neiksans (LAT) are very pleased with the activity and fine examinations results of all the participants.

Also as a Main Lecturer I’d like to note the good job of my Assistant, FT & GM Arturs Neiksans as well as of the famous GM, World Vice-Champion 2000-2002, Alexey Shirov. GM Shirov was very busy as an organizer of the strong rapid open “V.Petrov Memorial” and international children team competition “A.Shirov Cup” which were held at the same time with the Seminar but he found time to meet Seminar’s participants and to read short lecture to them.

Taking in mind the chess level, trainer experience, activity during the Seminar and examinations results, the participants were awarded 8 FT titles and 4 FI titles. Download Results
