FIDE Trainers' Seminar in Tenerife, Spain - REPORT Print
Monday, 03 June 2013 10:18
From 17th to 19th May 2013 a FIDE Trainers’ Seminar was held in Tenerife, Spain.

The Laguna/Cotelec Club was the venue of the seminar and also this chess club, together with TRG and Spain Chess Federation were the co-organizers.

The seminar was held for 15 hours in 3 days and the Lecturer was GM & FST Reinaldo Vera, Cuba.

In this Seminar, 24 trainers from Spain took part, most of them from Canary Islands. I, as lecturer, was very happy with the interest shown by all the trainers, most of them very well known for me as I myself was trainer for several years in Tenerife.

Many of the participants had a huge experience as trainers and solid academic formation, and this unquestionably raised the levels of the lessons.

At the closing ceremony, Mr. Luis Aguirre Vice-President of Spain Chess Federation, and President of Canary Chess Federation, spoke about the success of the seminar and the importance to improve the trainer’s preparation of Canary Islands.

For me was a real pleasure to work together with this magnificent group of persons and I hope to be back soon to share our experience in the field of chess train.

GM & FST Reinaldo Vera
