FIDE Trainers' Seminar in Rome, Italy - REPORT Print
Wednesday, 05 June 2013 06:33

From May 3rd to 5th I was honored to run a FIDE Trainers’ Seminar in Rome, Italy. The seminar was held for 15 hours in 3 days.

The successful event was co-organized by FIDE, the Italian Chess Federation (FSI), the FIDE Trainers’ Commission (TRG), Comitato Regionale di Scacchi del Lazio, and the Lazio Chess Club.

Mr. Paolo Lenzi (next photo – 1rst from left), President of SS Lazio Scacchi, was a great host, and together with his team, Liliana Di Pizzo and Patrizio Missimi, also directors of Lazio Chess Club, provided all the facilities to develop our work in a wonderful atmosphere.

I want to thank all the 34 participants for their will to learn and specially the great translator and friend GM Lexy Ortega, who enriched the lessons with his knowledge and comments.

The closing ceremony was honored by Mr. Gianpietro Pagnoncelli, President of Italian Chess Federation, who congratulated all the participants for their efforts and presented the diplomas of participation to every one of the 34 participants.

Here is the ‘family’ photo from the event.

It was a pleasure for me to share chess knowledge with all the participants and visit Rome again after some years.

Thanks again to everyone who made this TRG Seminar possible, particularly to Mr. Gianpietro Pagnoncelli, President of Italian Chess Federation, Luigi Maggi, President del Comitato Regionale di Scacchi del Lazio, and Mr. Paolo Lenzi Presidente of SS Lazio Scacchi.
