Dear Chess Friends,
We received a letter from father of our chess player, woman international master Vesna Rožič, member of Slovenian chess team, who is one of the most popular chess players in Slovenia and abroad. We are publishing the whole letter to inform you of the situation:
I turn to you with a request for a donation to cancer treatment of my 26-year-old daughter Vesne Rožič. Vesna is a student of final year at Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana and permanent member of Slovenian chess team. She got seriously ill in May this year. Doctors diagnosed metastatic cancer. Since Vesna is a fighter by nature, she decided to fight the disease with all of her strengths.
She started treatment in Slovenia at Institute of Oncology in Ljubljana, where she has already received two cycles of systemic chemotherapy, but because of the nature of the disease this was not enough. We contacted the clinic Medias Klinikum GmbH, Burghausen, Germany, where she will receive treatment in the form of local chemotherapy. Doctors estimate that she will require at least 3 cycles of local chemotherapy. Each cycle costs between 15,000 and 20,000 EUR.
The cost of treatment is very high. We managed to cover the cost of first cycle of local chemotherapy in Germany. For payment of the remaining two courses totaling 40,000 EUR we turn to you and ask you to help us collect donations to pay the costs of Vesna’s treatment.
Maybe I didn’t say everything I wanted at the moment, but my distress and hardship our family is so big that we can’t help ourselves.
On behalf of the Chess Federation of Slovenia and in Vesna’s name we turn to you and ask you to listen to the request to help raise funds needed for Vesna in the struggle for life at her hardest game so far. We will be grateful for every donated euro. Without your support we will not be able to raise enough money.
All funds are raised on account of the Regional Association of the Red Cross Maribor, IBAN: SI56 0451 5000 0397 432, Reference: 50751, Purpose: Vesna Rozic. (Bank details: Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor, Vita Kraigherja 4, 2505 Maribor, BIC/Swift code: KBMASI2XXXX).
Funds will be reserved exclusively for the payment of expenses of Vesna treatment in Germany.
