Round 11

In Under 18 , Popov won the grandmaster derby against Howell to win the gold medal with a commanding 2682 performance with 9 points. IM Edouard drew his game against FM Nakhapetiane and collected 8.5 points in the end as did GM Alexander Rakhmanov who won against IM Leon Hoyos from Mexico.IM Edouard had the better tie-break so he won the silver medal while Rahkmanov had to be content with the bronze medal.

In Under 18 Girls, WFM Gunina won against the Indian WIM Gomes to take the gold medal with 9 points. On the second board, the game between WFM Hamrakulova and WIM Nemcova ended peacefully as a draw enabling Nemcova to win the silver. On the third board, WIM Betul Cemre Yyldyz, drew against Rakic, a former opponent of WFM Ozturk in the Under 16 struggle for European Championship in 2006. WIM Yyldyz shared the third place with WFM Hamrakulova and Andrenko and had the best tiebreak with a 2346 performance.

In Under 16 Girls, WFM Ozturk won against WFM Olga Girya who led the event with 8.5 to catch her but the draw between WFM Nakhbayeva, Tsatsalashvili and Ivanenko's win against WFM Repina created a third way tie and Tsatsalashvili won the gold, Olga Girya from Russia won the silver, Olga Ivanenko from Ukraine won the bronze medal while the European champion and the local hero WFM Kubra Ozturk has to be content with the fourth place and the bronze medal since first six places receive medal in WYCC.

In Under 16, FM Chirila won against FM Pereira and got 8.5 points and shared the first place with three other players but won the gold medal on the tiebreak. FM Pereria who drew in the last round against the Rumanian FM won the silver medal while the Russian players IM Kharchenko and Alexey Goganov took the third and fourth places consecutively. Ozturk completed her WIM titles and she is going to become WIM.

In Under 14 Group, IM Sjugirov won against Wang to have 9 points and win the gold medal with the better tiebreak against Kanarek who won against FM Ter-Sahakyan in the final round. Third place was shared by three players Wang, Belous and FM Swiercz while the bronze medal went to Wang. In Under 14 Girls group, WFM Paikidze won the last round game against WFM Danelia, her compatriot and won the gold medal. The second place was shared by WFM Arabidze again from Georgia who won against WFM Cori of Peru and Gagare from India won her hame against Adamowicz to win the bronze medal.

In Under 12 Group, FM Nyzhnyk won the final game against Beradze but it was only sufficient to share the first place but take the silver medal since, Naroditsky also won against FM Bukavshin and he was the one who won the gold medal with the better tie-break. Three players, Han from China, Monev from Bulgaria and Cori from Peru shared the third place but Han was the winner on tie-break.

In Under 10 Group, Wang from China drew against CM Oparin and got the gold medal with 10 points. On the second board, Prince made a draw with Antipov who had 8.5 points and the latter won a silver medal. Prince, last year's Under 8 World Champion got the bronze medal with 8.5 points. In Under 10 Girls, Styazhkina won against Lachowicz to get the gold medal. Lei fom China won a critical game against Chiang and this result made her the runner-up in the event with 8.5 points together with Guo another Chinese player.

In Under 8 Group, Savenkov made a draw with Sinyanskiy and reached the gold medal. Sinyanskiy and Qasimov shared the second place since Qasimov won his game. In Under 8 Girls, Furtado won the event after the final round game against Abdulmalik. On the second and third boards two Azerbaijani Mammadzada and Hojatova won their games and achieved silver and bronze medals respectively.

Round 10

In Under 18 Girls, after WFM Gunina won against WIM Nemcova, both have equal points and they are closely followed by WIM Gomes who won against WFM Fiona-Steil and WIM Yyldyz who won against WIM Ignacz. In Under 18 Boys, IM Hoyos and GM Popov drew their games and Popov was eventually caught by IM Romain who won against IM Grigorian at 8 points. GM Howell and GM Rahkmanov, the other two GMs are eventually back with a high momentous after winning against IM Vocaturo and IM Saric respectively.

In Under 16 group, WFM Girya is leading with 8.5 after winning against WFM Nakhbayeva while Tsatsalashvili who drew with Ivanenko is at 8. WFM Ozturk, the local star, won against WFM Kunon to reach 7.5 as did WFM Repina and Ivanenko. In Under 16 Men, FM Chrilia is still leading with 8 after drawing with Russian IM Kharchenko. FM Perira, won against Spanish Guerra in the Iberian derby and has 8 points sharing the first place with FM Chrilia.

In Under 14 Boys, Wang is leading with 8.5 after his victory against the Swedish youngster Grandelius and followed by FM Ter-Sahakyan, Kanarek and IM Sjugirov with 8. In Girls category of the same age WFM Paikide is leading with 8.5 followed by FM Cori with 8.

Beradze won against FM Bajarani as the major upset of the round and he is going to face Nyzhnyk as Bukavshin is playing with Naroditsky. In Under 12 Girls, Efroimski lost her first game against Guo The first have 9 while the latter has 8.5. Saudkasova won against Galunova as with Zhai they have 8 points.

In Under 10, Wang won against Lamard and has 9.5 points. He is followed by Antipov with 8.5. Prince, won against Luo has 8 points. In Under 10 Girls, Chiang won against Pastuzsko as did Styazhkina against Fedyuk. Guo drew with Paramzina and has 7.5 points while Ye?im Patel lost against Lahcowicz.

In Under 8 Boys, Savenko won against Yeoh and has 9.5 points with conceding only one draw away so far and very close to the world championship under8 title. Sinyanski won against Zapata and has 8.5 points and has still slim hopes of catching the Russian.

In Under 8 Girls, Furtado keeps on winning this time against Nguyen and has 8.5 points. Ponamarchuk is chasing her with 8 points while they are followed by Abdulmalik and Mammadzada with 7.5 points.

Round 8





There is a close contest in Under 8 group where everybody beats each other. Konstantin Savenkov won against Nikita Ayvazyan to take the sole lead with 7.5. Chingiz Qasimov won against Harshal Shahi and now has 7 points. In under 8 Girls, Nguyen of Vietnam won against Meghna and leads with 7. Furtado won against Vatansever from Turkey to have 6.5 points joined by Mammadzada and Zhou.
In Under 10 group, Antipov and Wang drew which was the first half point given away by the latter. He is closely followed by Polish player Duda with 7 points since he won against Luo from US. In Girls' section, Styazhkina who led the tournament all the way up to now lost against Lei of China which caused Chiang to be the new leader since she won against Guo and has 7 points.
In Under 12, FM Bajarani won against Naroditsky and leads with conceding only one draw away. Bukavshin is at the second place after winning against Beradze while FM Nyzhnyk won against Andersen to share third place with Idani, FM Nakauchi and Nan. In Under 12 Girls, Efroimski won yet her eighth consecutive game this time against Saduakaskova from Kazakhstan and she still has a perfect score. Eid and Ibrahimova drew their games, which caused Eid to share the second place with Kumari and Guo.
IM Sjugirov lost his first game against FM Vidit who is now leading the event with 7 points. Belous won against Sethuraman and shares the second place with Grandelius and FM Robson who defeated Lagarde and Plat respectively. Under 14 Girls' group is led by WFM Paikidze after her victory against Vietnamese WFM Nguyen. WFM Cori won against WFM Camacho while Adamowicz won against Baciu to share second place with others having 6.5.
Under 16 tournament is led by FM Chirila who has 7 points won after winning against FM Leniart, followed by FM Bregadze and FM Recuero Guerra having 6.5 points. In Girls' group Tsatsalashvili won against Beridze joined by WFM Girya at 7 points. Iordaniou created an upset win against Guramishvili and has 6.5 points, as did WFM Nakhbayeva.
GM Ivan Popov produced a win against FM Nakhapetiane and now has 7 points. IM Grigoryan drew against Samolins while IM Edouard also has 6.5 points. IM Leon Hoyos, IM Sari, Hayrapetyan and IM Prujissers won their games and have 6 points after round 8. In Under 18 girls, WIM Betul Cemre Yyldyz produced WIM Mary Ann Gomes to reach 6.5 points following WIM Katerina Nemcova who has 7 points together with WFM Steil-Anton. WIM Gomes, and WFM Gunina have 6 points.

Round 7











GM Popov won againt Prujissers as did FM Nakhapetiane against IM Warakowski to reach 6 points. IM Grigoryan also joined the leaders by winning against IM Vocaturo.

In Under 18 Girls Group, Mary Ann Gomes lost against WIM Katerina Nemcova to lose her sole leading position. WFM Steil-Antoni and WFM Hamrakulova drew to reach 5 points while they were joined by WIM Mikadze and WIM Betul Cemre Yyldyz both winning against WFM Rysbayeva and WIM Chirivi respectively. On the first board, WIM Yyldyz is going to play against Gomes with white while WIM Nemcova is going to face WIM Mikadze.

Under 16 Group is led by FM Leniart and FM Chirila with 6 points followed by Nabaty, FM Bregadze, FM Piorun FM Recure Guerra and FM Pereira. Tomorrow, FM Leniart and FM Chirila are going to face each other in a crucial game. In Girls section of the same age group, WFM Girya and Beridze drew to reach 6 points joined by Tsatsalashvili winning against WFM Ozturk. Iordanidou and WFM Ton drew to reach 5.5 points.

In the Under 14 Group, IM Sjugirov drew with FM Ter-Sahakyan while Plat, Sethuraman, FM Robson and Belous drew their games to make it to 5.5 while FM Vidit won to catch IM Sjugirov. In Under 14 Girls, WGM Paikidze and Adamowicz are leading with 5,5 points.

In Under 12, FM Bajaran won against Nyhznyk. FM Bajarani and Naroditsky are leading the big group to play in the group. In Under 12 Girls group, Efroimoski won to reach seven points out of seven games.

In Under 10 group, Wang won against Prince to secure his leading position with the perfect score. He is followed by Antipov who won against Khomidov. In Under 10 Girls, Styazhkina drew with Khademlsharieh and leads with 6.5 followed by some youngsters with 6.

In Under 8 group, Ayvazyan won against Qasimov who was at the perfect score while Savenkow won against Shtembuliak. In Under 8 Girls, Gunay Mammadzada, Buse Vatansever, Megna C H, Furtado, Shivacheva and Zhou are sharing the second place after Nguyen who is still leading.









Round 5

In Round 5 in Under 18 Girls group, WIM Mary Ann Gomes from India continued her winning streak with winning against WFM Anya Corke while Betul Cemre Yyldyz drew against Nemcova. In the Under 18 group, GM Popov won against Samolis, IM Warakowski won against Georgian IM Margelashvili. Mexican IM Leon Hoyos made a draw against Russian IM Nakhpaitane.









In Under 16 Group, Spanish FM Recuero Guerra drew with Polish FM Piroin and now there is not any single player with perfect score. FM Bregadze won against FM Chirilila while Polish FM Leniart won. Hovhannisyan also won against FM Krechi. Under 16 Girls group is led by Tsatsalashvili and WFM Repina who were also caught by WFM Girya after she won against Ivanenko. WFM Ton is another player who is 4.5.

In Under 14, Sethuraman and FM Robson drew while IM Sjurigorv won against Kanarek to take the sole lead in this group. FM Ter-Sahakyan, Wang and Plat are also sharing the second place with 4.5. In Under 14 Girls group, WFM Paikidze won against Mohana to make it to the unshared first place followed by WFM Danelia, Camacho, WFM Nguyen, Adamowicz and WFM Arabidze.

In Round 5 for Under 12 Boys FM Nyzhnyk won his fifth consecutive game against Monev, while Naroditsky also joined him at perfect score after winning against Srbis. FM Bajarani won against Nakauchi while Emiro?lu lost against Indian FM Sai. In Under 12 Girls, Efroimski is leading after winning all her games, the last one against Galunova while Vujnovic, Ziaziulkina, WFM Iwanow and Eid are sharing the second place with 4.5.

In Under 10 Group, Duda won against CM Le sharing first place with Chinese Wang who won against Gagare from India. In Under 10 Girls, Styazhkina won against Chiang while she was followed by Khademalsherieh, Aripova, Guo and Xu with 4,5 points.

Under 8 group is now led by Qasimov who won against bronze medalist in European Championship from the home country, Volkan Sevgi. In Girls group, Nguyen is leading with 5 followed by Meghna of India who won to her compatriot Furtado. Brief Look at the Top Rankings of All Groups

In women U18 Category, WGM Anya Corke and WIM Mary Ann Gomes are the only two players with perfect score after four rounds. WIM Katerina Nemcova and local hero WIM Betul Cemre Yyldyz who won against WIM Ivakhinova in style after a nice exchange sacrifice share the third place. In men's section, in the top 2 boards, IM Margelashvili drew against GM Popov and IM Pruuijssers drew against IM Grigorian. The other player with the perfect score in the groups, Caspi lost against IM Warakowski.
In U16, FM Piorun from Poland won against Azerbaijani IM Durarbeyli. The other Azerbaijani player with the perfect score suffered a loss against FM Recuero from Spain. Turkish star Mustafa Yylmaz lost in an interesting position with major pieces on the board against FM Krejci of Czech Republic. Tsatalashvili and WFM Repina won against WFM Kulon and Agrest respectively to remain at the top. WFM Ton made a draw against Beridze while Girya won against Winkelmann. Reigning champion WFM Guramishvili from Georgia who suffered an early loss is back on track with 3 points. European Champion WFM Ozturk won against Algerian Hamza.
In U14 Girls section, WFM Paikidze is leading with 4 points has to share the first place with Mohana, Baciu. In U14 Section, the higher rated Sethuraman against FM Vidit won the Indian derby while Kalmykian IM Sjugirov also won against Ipatov. Other players with 4 points are FM Robson and Kanarek.
Top seed of the U12 section FM Ilya Nyzhnyk won yet another game against FM Barros from Colombia. Naroditsky and Monev also collected 4 points. Cankut Emiroglu, former World Schools Champion won against Kaphle and he collected 3.5 points. In Girl's tournament Galunova, Lezhepekova, Efroimovski, Ziazulkina and Vujnovic are at perfect score after round 4.
In U10 U8 World Champion Prince drew against Uzbekistani Artemenko. Duda, Wag and CM Thai have perfect score in the group. In the girls category of the same age, there are 5 players with 4 points : Styazhkina, Chiang, Aripova, Guo and Khademalsharieh.
In U8 section Volkan Sevgi from Turkey won another game and together with Qasimov who won against the top seed of the tournament Shembuliak, Savenkov and Nguyen reached perfect square in the group. In U8 Girls, Abdulmalik from Kazakhstan, Furtado from India, Nguyen from Vietnam are leading with perfect score.
Tommorrow is the last day before the free day but definitely not the least one since there are two rounds in the schedule. The fatigue of the players might have decisive consquences in the afternoon.
