FIDE President attends the 7th International Children tournament Closing Ceremony in Almaty Print

Within the framework of the official visit to Kazakhstan, FIDE President, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia participated in the Closing Ceremony of the 7th International Children tournament that took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Young chess players from 6 Central Asian federations and one team from Russia participated in the tournament which was organized by the Charity Foundation of Kazakhstan "Seimar" and Kazakhstan Chess Federation. Kazakhstan Chess Federation President Mr. Margulan Seisenbaev also attended the Closing Ceremony. on the FIDE President`s visit to Kazakhstan and see pictures.

Within the framework of the official visit to Kazakhstan, FIDE President, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia participated in the Closing Ceremony of the 7th International Children tournament that took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Young chess players from 6 Central Asian federations and one team from Russia participated in the tournament which was organized by the Charity Foundation of Kazakhstan "Seimar" and Kazakhstan Chess Federation. Kazakhstan Chess Federation President Mr. Margulan Seisenbaev also attended the Closing Ceremony.

It is worth to mention that the 7th International Children tournament is the only chess tournament which is organized under the patronage of the World Chess Federation. In the frames of this tournament, a special chess competition between leading top managers of the financial organizations of Kazakhstan was held.

Heads of the national federations and sport organizations of 6 chess federations participating in the Children Festival came to Kazakhstan to support their chess players. FIDE President met with some of them: with the Afghanistan Chess Federation President Mr. Mahmud Hanif and with the Uzbekistan Chess Federation Vice President Sergey Pinchuk. The chess developments in two countries were discussed.

Also, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov gave a press conference to the mass media of Kazakhstan where he raised the issues on possible future collaboration between Kazakhstan and Republic of Kalmykia, shared with the journalists on the results of the negotiations with the Chairman of the Council of Directors of "Alyans-bank" Mr. Dauren Keirebaev, where they discussed the issues of the investment projects on the territory of Kalmykia.

The meeting with the FIDE President and Mayor of Almaty Mr. Imangali Tasmagabetov was also held. The business cooperation between two cities: Elista and Amlaty was one of the topic of their conversation. Mr. Tasmagabetov informed Mr. Ilyumzhinov on the dynamic developments of infrustructure of Almaty, which is very important in light of the decision that Almaty will be the city of the Asian Winter games 2011.

Also, the Akim (mayor) of Almaty mentioned the readiness of the Almaty Government to implement the "Chess in School" programme in the schools of Almaty. According to his words, chess will be included into the chess programme in schools on the elective basis. The leadership of Almaty will provide all schools with the chess equipment.
