FIDE President's visit in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Print

On the 25 July 2007 during his 3-days official visit to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People`s Republic of China the Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov signed an Agreement with the Government of the IMAR. .

On the 25 July 2007 during his 3-days official visit to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People`s Republic of China the Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov signed an Agreement with the Government of the IMAR.

According to this Agreement the IMAR will invest into the Elista airport reconstruction, construction of specialized warehouses for various consumer goods as well as creation of a Ghenghiz Khan museum and a Lagan sea port. This agreement stipulates creation of a joint venture for agricultural produce and the cooperation in the sphere of education.

Mr. Yang Jin, the Chairman of the IMAR Government, presented medical equipment for Kalmykia`s children`s hospital for an amount of 10 million RUR. He pointed out that this gift would initiate a long-lasting and fruitful collaboration between the Republic of Kalmykia and the Autonomous Region. In his turn, Mr. Ilyumzhinov presented 100 chess sets and chess training manuals to the sport organizations of the IMAR and underlined the intentions of FIDE to assist the Region`s Government in the chess centres construction in the two largest cities of the Region.

At the press conference Mr. Ilyumzhinov informed the Chinese mass media that the cooperation between the Republic of Kalmykia and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is an important step in the development of partnership between Russia and China and that this visit is one of the highlights of the Year of China in Russia.
