Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and LUKOIL signed an Agreement on construction of oil and gas refineries in Kalmykia Print

On 9 June 2007 during the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum the Head of the Republic of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and President of the LUKOIL Company Vagit Alekperov signed an Agreement on construction of oil and gas refineries on the territory of Kalmykia. The investment cost will total to 3 billion US dollars. Moreover, according to the agreement the LUKOIL Company will construct 10 gas stations during the year of 2007. On 9 June 2007 during the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum the Head of the Republic of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and President of the LUKOIL Company Vagit Alekperov signed an Agreement on construction of oil and gas refineries on the territory of Kalmykia. The investment cost will total to 3 billion US dollars. Moreover, according to the agreement the LUKOIL Company will construct 10 gas stations during the year of 2007. The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation German Gref took part in the ceremony of signing. Mr. Gref pointed out that this agreement is the biggest contract concluded during the current forum in Saint Petersburg. In his speech Vagit Alekperov underlined that a decision to construct oil and gas refineries was made by the company after successful negotiations with the leadership of Kalmykia that had offered the best conditions for this project. In his turn the Head of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov noted that fulfillment of this agreement will give an impetuous spur to the economy development of the Republic.

Besides, a general agreement between the Republic of Kalmykia, the Czech corporation “Falcon Capital”, Czech Export Bank and ChKDNov Energo was signed by Messrs. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, Josef Cimbora, Josef Tauber and Jan Bartshiz respectively. According to the concluded agreement wind-energetic stations will be constructed in 2008 on the territory of Kalmykia. The total investment will be 266,1 million Euro.
