As a result of the importance being placed on the World Youth Championships by FIDE for the development of chess, an inspection visits by two Presidential Board members, Mr Israel Gelfer and Mr Geoffrey Borg, was organised to one of the bidding organisers. The Mexican Chess Federation has proposed the organisation of the 2009 World Youth Championships in Aguascalientes, a city and state located in the centre of Mexico.
