The Philippine Sportswriters Association shall give FIDE Honorary President Florencio Campomanes their highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award at ceremonies today. Last December, the Philippine Supreme Court unanimously cleared him of all charges in the case filed against him ten years ago. The fine was a matter of around 100 Euro but Campomanes refused to accept the verdict. `I took no short cuts and for ten years maintained my sanity and sense of humour,` Campomanes said.
