FIDE President`s Meetings in Czech Republic Print

On 21st December 2006 during his visit to the Czech Republic, His Excellency Kirsan Ilyumzhinov had a meeting with Mr. Petr Herejk, President of the Czech Chess Federation and Mr. Jozef Cimbora, President of the Czech corporation "Falcon Capital AC". They discussed the possible organization of the Women`s World Championship 2008 in Prague. .

On 21st December 2006 during his visit to the Czech Republic, His Excellency Kirsan Ilyumzhinov (center) had a meeting with Mr. Petr Herejk (right), President of the Czech Chess Federation and Mr. Jozef Cimbora (left), President of the Czech corporation "Falcon Capital AC". They discussed the possible organization of the Women`s World Championship 2008 in Prague.

The Falcon Capital AC expressed its interest to sponsor this event. They will submit in early January 2007 a guarantee letter to the FIDE Secretariat.

The proposed venue is the 5-star Hotel Complex Prague located in a picturesque section of the historic city. Mr. Ilyumzhinov made an inspection of the proposed venue and expressed his satisfaction with the conditions.

The opening ceremony for the Women's World Championship is proposed for 8th March 2008. Please read more on the Regulations of the Women`s World Championship.
