Dao Thien Hai of Vietnam, Murtas Kazhgaleyev of Kazakhstan and Bu Xiangzhi of China share the lead with 5 points each after 6 rounds of the Asian Games Rapid chess event. Koneru Humpy of India is alone with 5 points in the Women`s division. Three others trail close behind with 4.5 points each. Both are 9-round Swiss system events. The Asian Games chess events have 3 gold medals at stake in Individual Rapid Chess for Men, another for Women and another for the Mixed Team competition. After colorful general opening ceremony evening of 1st December, the Rapid Chess Individual competition started 2nd December with 21 Asian countries participating in 9-round Swiss system tournaments for men and women.
