The Rating Administrator has proposed that FIDE applies existing regulation 1.92 regarding rating reports received by FIDE. The regulation states:

'The Chief Arbiter of a FIDE registered tournament shall send a rating report on the tournament by registered post or by email to arrive at the FIDE Secretariat not later than 30 days after the end of the event.'

Currently a report is not considered late if it is received within 60 days of the end of the event.

It has been agreed to implement the regulation from the end of the first quarter 2007. This will give time for federations to clear any backlog before they are charged the late report fee. Nearly one third of reports received in the last quarter were after the 30 day deadline and this impacts on the rating list and workflow in the Rating office.
