From 3 to 7 November 2006 - His Excellency Kirsan Ilyumzhinov visited Jordan and met with the leadership of the country. He had a meeting with the Crown Prince of Jordan, His Highness Mohammed bin Talal, Prime Minister Dr. Marouf Suleiman al-Bakhit and officials of the Royal Jordanian Chess Federation. During these meetings he discussed areas of cooperation with Jordan and in particular the Chess in Schools program. Read more here.

On invitation of Jordanian Princess Faya, he visited the Jordanian Hashimit Fund `Human Development` and presented a hundred chess sets to orphans and homeless children.
