FIDE President`s Amnesty for transferred players to join FIDE events Print

A number of professional players have changed federations and would like to participate in FIDE events. In line with regulations that require ten months residency to be eligible to represent the new federation, FIDE President H.E. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has signed the Amnesty for transferred players to represent the new federation in FIDE events without the ten month wait on condition of Transfer fee per regulations. In connection with the fact that many professional chess players have changed their federations and would like to participate in the FIDE events under the flag of the new federation, and in line with the regulations that require the 10 months period of a player`s residency in the new federation after which a player is eligible to represent the New federation, FIDE President H.E. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov signed the Amnesty to all transferred players to represent the new federation in the FIDE events under the condition of Transfer fee in accordance with the FIDE regulations without 10 month period of wait.

In accordance with the President`s announcement all chess players who have changed or are willing to change the country affiliation and at the same time would like to participate in the forthcoming Women`s World Chess Championship 2006, World Chess Olympiad 2006 and European Individual (Women`s) Chess Championships 2006 are now eligible to represent their new federations under the conditions of Transfer fee charged.

C.05 FIDE Regulations - General Rules for Participation in FIDE events where you can find the Transfer Fee table according to which any transferred player who does not meet the requirement of 10 months residency in the new federation only after which a player is eligible to participate in the FIDE events under the new flag, will be charged.

We would like to inform you that All National federations having the recently transferred players and who would like to represent the new federation in the FIDE event, will be informed on the fee.
