The Trainers Committee, comprising mainly top Grandmasters and Trainers, voted unanimously for Ignatius Leong’s proposition of 5 titles (FIDE Senior Trainer, FIDE Trainer, FIDE Instructor, National Instructor and Developmental Instructor).
The Asean Chess Academy will be conducting 2 seminars from 10th to 18th December 2004 in Singapore. Details attached. Titles & Licensing of Trainers

The Trainers Committee, comprising mainly top Grandmasters and Trainers, considered the two proposals for the new system of titles and licensing of Trainers. The members voted unanimously for Ignatius Leong’s proposition of 5 titles (FIDE Senior Trainer, FIDE Trainer, FIDE Instructor, National Instructor and Developmental Instructor).

To kick-start the programme in coach education, seminars and examinations, 31 trainers were awarded the title of FIDE Senior Trainer. They shall be authorized to conduct seminars and examinations for Trainers.

The FIDE Congress in Calvia, Spain, confirmed the report of the Trainers Committee. The three higher FIDE titles will be awarded by FIDE through seminars and examinations which must be conducted by at least 2 FIDE Senior Trainers. The National Instructor and Developmental Instructor titles will be awarded by regional Academies.

Seminars for Coaches and Arbiters in Singapore

The Asean Chess Academy will be conducting 2 seminars from 10th to 18th December 2004 in Singapore in conjunction with the Asian Youth Championships.

IA & IO Stewart Reuben will conduct the Arbiters’ Seminar and ST & FM Israel Gelfer will conduct the Seminar for Coaches. Details attached.
