An Organizer of the 2005 World Chess Championship Match has to follow this procedure:
The applicant shall pay a non-refundable fee of USD 1,000 (one thousand) to obtain the obligatory bidding form and the necessary information from the FIDE Secretariat.

Each proposal shall be delivered in a sealed envelope to the FIDE Secretariat in Athens before the deadline of 25 September 2004.

When the deadline has expired, the FIDE President or his representative, shall open the received envelopes in order to assess the bids.

The FIDE Presidential Board shall decide in its October meeting which applicant shall be chosen according to the criteria of the WCC match regulations. FIDE shall announce the Organizers and the selected venue for the match.

FIDE may exercise the right to reject any bid application if the required conditions as stated in Regulations are not met or the financial offer is unsatisfactory.

At any time, if the bidding procedure fails, the Presidential Board shall decide where, when and how the Championship will be organized.
