IM Robert Gwaze of Zimbabwe and WIM Mona Khaled of Egypt won the African Championship for Men and Women, respectively, held 1-9 September 2007 in Namibia. Representatives from 14 African Countries saw action, namely Zambia, Uganda, Tunisia, Sudan, South Africa, Nigeria, Namibia, Mozambique, Malawi, Egypt, Botswana, Angola, Kenya and Uganda.
