Torneo de Ajedrez Linares 2009 is taking place February 18 - March 8, 2009, in Linares, Spain. This 26th edition of Torneo Internacional "Ciudad de Linares" is being played only in Spain. The Morelia site will not be on the agenda this year, but the organizers have confirmed that in 2010 the Mexican city will rejoin the competition again.

Note: this year's time control is different, there will be 2 hours for the first 40 moves, 1 hour until move 60, and then 20 minutes are added instead of 15min + 30 sec.
