Sharjah Wins Tie Over Al Ain in UAE Team Cup Print

uaeteamcup09sml   Sharjah prevailed in the tie break over Al Ain Chess Club with 23 match points each to win the UAE Cup Teams Open Tournament held 26-28 March 2009 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Abu Dhabi Chess Club scored 22 points to finish in third place. A total of 24 local and foreign teams of Clubs, companies and associations competed in the tournament. Each local club could register teams with a maximum of two foreign players in each team. The tournament was played as a 9 round Swiss System using Rapid time control of 20 minutes for the whole game with an increment of ten seconds per move.
