The strongest chess competition ever organized in Romania is ready to begin: Kings Tournament (3rd edition), scheduled between 13 and 25 June in Bazna resort, with official sponsor ROMGAZ.
The six top players involved in this double round-robin event of XX category are:
GM Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan, rating: 2756, rank 5 in world)
GM Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine, rating: 2746, rank 12 in world)
GM Alexei Shirov (Spain, rating: 2745, rank 13 in world)
GM Boris Gelfand (Israel, rating: 2733, rank 15 in world)
GM Gata Kamsky (USA, rating: 2720, rank 24 in world)
GM Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu (Romania, rating: 2675, rank 55 in world)
Tournament Director is the Romanian WGM Elisabeta Polihroniade.
