The $100,000 Campomanes Memorial has been advanced one day with arrival on 27th August and opening on 28th August. The event shall be preceded by the 6th Prospero A. The Campomanes Memorial is the brainchild of FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov who conceived this idea during his visit to the Philippines last month. The main objective is to honour the late Mr. Campomanes for his untiring and selfless efforts to develop and promote Chess.
