Paris Chess Championship 2012 Print

chess newsThe 87th Paris Chess Championship is taking place from 7th to 15th July at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin, 82 avenue Georges Lafont 75016 Paris. The Championship is played in 4 Groups and is open to all players of FIDE federations.

- FIDE Open: 9 rounds with rating above 2200 (1st prize 3 000 €)
- A Open: 9 rounds with rating from 1800 to 2300 (1st prize 1 500 €)
- B Open: 9 rounds with rating from 1400 to 1900 (1st prize 1 000 €)
- C Open: 9 rounds with rating under 1500 (1st prize 600 €)

Rate of play in all tournaments: Fischer 90 min / 40 moves + 30 min + 30s/move from the first move

Last year 633 participants from 35 countries competed. GM Arun Prasad won the main tournament.
