All Medal winners team with Officials of Bangladesh Olympic Association and Chess Federation

8th Bangladesh Games were held in Dhaka Bangladesh from 20th to 28th April 2013. Usually the games are held after four years but this time the games were held after 11 years. Bangladesh Olympic Association organised the games. Total 31 disciplines in the games and chess is the new discipline. Bangladesh Ansar & V.D.P. chess team achieved gold medal in the Classical Mixed team chess of the 8th Bangladesh Games.
Ansar earned 13 match points out of 7 games to clinch the gold. Players of Ansar are: GM Ziaur Rahman, GM Niaz Murshed, IM Minhazuddin Ahmed, FM Kh. Aminul Islam, WIM Shamima Akter Liza and Sharmin Sulatan Shirin, team captain of Ansar Masudur Rahman Mallick.
Bangladesh Navy achieved silver medal. Bangladesh Navy earned 11 points out of 7 games. Players of Bangladesh Navy are: GM Abdullah Al Rakib, GM Enamul Hossain, GM Reefat Bin Sattar, FM Md. Taibur Rahman, WFM Nazrana Khan and Shamiha Sharmin Simmi. Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution Company Limited achieved bronze medal.
Titas Gas earned 10 match points. Players of Titas Gas are: IM Abu Sufian Shakil, FM Sk. Nasir Ahmed, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, FM Mehdi Hasan, WIM Rani Hamid and Farjana Hossain Anne and Md. Saif Uddin, team captain of Titas Gas. In the 5th round Bangladesh Ansar beat Bangladesh Navy by 2.5-1.5 points and getting advanced position to earned gold.
Total 18 teams including 10 districts, 2 universities, 2 force, 1 bank and 3 government organisations participated in the classical mixed team. The event was held in 7 round Swiss-League system. The format of the event was every match played in 4 boards, where 3 boards played with male players and 4th board played with female player. Every team composed with 4 male players where 3 regular and 1 reserve and 2 female where 1 regular and 1 reserve. Mr. Syed Shahed Reza, Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association inaugurated the classical mixed team chess on 23rd April and Mr. Ashikur Rahman Miku, Deputy Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association distributed medals among the winners on 27th April.
