The meeting commenced with the Chairperson’s Report on the Commission’s activities throughout the year, including: a) the results of Anti-Doping Tests performed during the 35th Chess Olympiad in Bled, report on the Testing to WADA and to NCFs, b) dealing with the various queries by NCF members on anti-doping matters, c) updating FIDE website, publishing of Anti-Doping Regulations as agreed at the 2002 General Assembly in Bled, d) correspondence with WADA on anti-doping matters, e) revision of FIDE Anti-Doping Regulations to comply with WADA’s World Anti-Doping Code.
The Medical Commission’s working party has prepared a draft version of new FIDE Anti-Doping Regulations, compliant with World Anti-Doping Code. The draft version was discussed at length and several amendments and clarifications were added. The final draft version was agreed and is ready to be submitted to the Executive Board for approval.
A draft reply to IOC Questionnaire: Section: Health, Fair Play was circulated, discussed, amended and agreed. It will form a part of FIDE reply to IOC Questionnaire.
All questions tabled by Mr. H. Hamers, President of Zone 1.1 (Annex 15C of the Executive Board Agenda) were fully discussed and satisfactorily answered. The Medical Committee’s working party was commended on its effort in producing the new FIDE Anti-Doping Rules.
