Present: B. Asanov (KAZ), Y. Baselaib (UAE), W. Arns (NED), V. Dvorkovich (RUS). In the absence of Chairman A. Roshal (RUS), Mr. G. Oganessian chaired the meeting. The Committee outlined the results during the year after the Bled Congress, in particular: a) The Committee Chairman A. Roshal and his magazine 64 Chess Review organized the award of the Oscar, where the journalists from many countries of the world took part. b) The Committee Vice Chairman G. Oganessian has nearly completed the creation of the catalog of chess editions and publications. c) Mr. V. Dvorkovich and other members of the Committee have been active press members in their respective countries. The Committee noted that lack of financing is the drawback which negatively influences the activities of the Committee. The Committee is making the following request to FIDE: a) To support the magazine 64 Chess Review in the organization of the Chess Oscar award. b) To support the publication of the Chess Editions Catalog. c) To support the organization of the registration of chess journalists. d) To support in the organisation of the press centers of the FIDE world and European championships.
