FIDE Outstanding Contribution to Social Chess Award 2025
Introduction and Guidelines
As part of the FIDE Year of Social Chess 2025, the FIDE Social Commission is honoured to introduce a global recognition initiative to celebrate individuals and projects that use chess as a powerful tool for social good. This initiative will be highlighted on July 20th, International Chess Day, through the FIDE Outstanding Contribution to Social Chess Award and accompanying Certificates of Appreciation.
This award recognises exceptional and sustained social impact through chess. The selected honouree will receive a physical award plaque, sent by mail to your federation for presentation—ideally during a special ceremony on or around July 20th, International Chess Day.
We also encourage federations to share photos and stories on social media tagging FIDE and the FIDE Social Commission, and by using the hashtags:
