COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Place: Hungarian Chess Federation headquarters and Tournament hall: 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 10. September 5-8, 2024 (Thursday to Sunday) The competition will be held over four days instead of three, in two separate rooms, to make the game more comfortable for the competitors and to avoid 3 rounds per day. The venue of the competition is located in the V. district, in the headquarters of the Hungarian Chess Federation, in a patina environment, in the immediate vicinity of the Parliament, which is easily accessible from any direction. It can be reached by trams 2, 4 and 6, as well as buses 9, 15, 91 and 115 and the M2 metro. Type: Seven-round Swiss tournament in groups A and B, according to the current FIDE rules. Game Time Group "A" 2 x 90 minutes + bonus time of 30 seconds per move Group "B" 2 × 70 minutes + 30 seconds bonus time per move Registration: You can register in advance with competition director József Jeszenszky at the e-mail address sporty207@gmail.com, until midnight on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. We will confirm the entries. Applicants after the entry deadline will be put on a waiting list, and the tournament director will decide on their playing opportunities and group assignments, subject to possible cancellations. Group "A" with ELO points above 1800 Entry fee: HUF 9,000 above 2,100 1,800–2,099 HUF 10,000 Group "B" - under 1800 points

Group „B” with ELO points under 1800 Entry fee: 1600–1800 HUF 9000 HUF 10,000 under 1599 Those without a ELO points HUF 11,000 Prizes: The prize fund, including category prizes, is HUF 280,000. Prizes are guaranteed for at least 80 participants. The condition for awarding the category prizes is that at least 3 competitors in the given category (female, senior, youth) enter the group. A contestant can only receive one prize. Prize money is subject to taxes and fees. The date of the award ceremony in groups "A" and "B" is Sunday, September 8, 2024 immediately after the last round.
