Grandmasters Efstratios Grivas (main Lecturer), Eugene Torre (Assistant Lecturer) and Jayson Gonzales (Assistant Lecturer) will conduct a FIDE Trainers' Seminar in the weekend of June 3 and 4 at the Philippine Sports Commission, Rizal Memorial Complex, Manila.

The FIDE Trainers Seminar is approved by FIDE and the FIDE Trainers Commission. The seminar is co-organised by FIDE, the Asian Chess Federation, the FIDE Trainers’ Commission, the National Chess Federation of Philippines and the Eugene Torre Chess Foundation.

Successful participants will qualify for titles of FIDE Trainer (FT), FIDE Instructor (FI), National Instructor (NI) and Developmental Instructor (DI). Students will receive Certificates of Participation.

GM Efstratios Grivas, Secretary of the FIDE Trainers Commission, will give the introduction by Skype. GM Torre is a licenced FIDE Senior Trainer and GM Gonzales is a licensed FIDE Trainer.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Maximum number of participants is 20 trainers. The seminar will take up to 15 hours and is scheduled 9am to 6pm.

Seminar topics will cover the FIDE structure, physical and psychological training, building an opening repertoire, middle game and endgame theory, how to teach beginners, develop strategy and tactics among other topics.
