The 4th China National Chess Championship opening ceremony was held yesterday in Xinghua town, Jiangsu Province, China. 24 Chinese Chess Masters are gathered in Xinghua to compete among one another.

Amoing the top players are Grandmasters Wang Yue ( Rtg. 2702 ), Bu Xiangzhi ( Rtg.2677 ) and defending champion Ding Liren( Rtg.2660). Women’s World Chess Champion Ms. Hou Yifan (Rtg.2639) will participate in the men's group. The time control 90 minutes to complete the game, with 30 seconds increment per move. There are 11 rounds, with each round starting at 14:30 CCT. The tournament will last from Mar.27 to Apr.7. The rest day will be on 1st April.

China National Chess Championship (individual) is the annual highest level of domestic chess events, and Xinghua has hosted it for three consecutive years. Xinghua, also known as "the town of chess" in China, has cultivated women’s world champion Hou Yifan, Woman Grandmaster Gu Xiaobing, up and coming Guo Qi and other outstanding professional chess players.
