The FIDE Electoral Commission has published its report dated August 30, 2026, approving the lists of valid applications for the positions of Elected Vice President, Member of the Constitutional Commission, and Zonal President.
Valid candidacies for Elected Vice President
The Electoral Commission approved the following candidacies:

Four Elected Vice Presidents will be elected in accordance with the FIDE Electoral Rules.
Valid candidacies for Member of the Constitutional Commission
The Electoral Commission approved the following two candidacies:

The 2026 election is an interim election concerning one position on the Constitutional Commission.

Elections for the Zones of the African Continent were already held in July 2026.
For some Zones, no valid candidacies have been submitted. In specific exceptional cases, the Electoral Commission indicated that a new deadline for submitting candidacies may be authorised, subject to the consensus of all Member Federations belonging to the respective Zone, and no later than September 10, 2026.
