The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has appointed Grandmaster Emil Sutovsky as CEO of FIDE Enterprises, a Swiss-based company wholly owned by FIDE. He will combine this role with his current position as Chief Executive Adviser to FIDE President Timur Turlov.
In his new role, Sutovsky will oversee FIDE’s commercial activities, with an emphasis on building long-term partnerships and developing new business opportunities.
The appointment forms part of FIDE’s broader efforts to strengthen its institutional and commercial capabilities. FIDE Enterprises will support the Federation’s long-term development by helping to unlock the commercial potential of chess.
Another priority will be to strengthen the connection between professional chess and its global audience, making the sport more engaging and accessible to a wider public.
