Earlier this year, I publicly committed to holding another FIDE General Assembly before the end of 2026. I believe it is important to honour this commitment and provide our member federations with an opportunity to address the matters that remain outstanding following our meeting in Samarkand.
In accordance with the decision of the FIDE Council, I am pleased to invite the delegates, representatives of the Affiliated Organisations, Honourable Dignitaries, members of the Zonal Council, Commission Chairs, the current FIDE World Champion and Women’s World Champion, members of the Management and Advisory Boards, and other FIDE officials to participate in the FIDE Extraordinary General Assembly, which will be held online on December 27, 2026, at 14:30 CET.
The Assembly will allow us to complete the work initiated in Samarkand and take the necessary decisions to ensure the continued functioning and development of FIDE.
The complete agenda and relevant documents will be circulated by November 27, 2026. The access link and technical instructions for participation will be provided in advance.
