
The FIDE Events Commission (EVE) has summarized the results of the procedure “Call for Bids FIDE World Championships 2027”, which closed on September 15, 2025.
By the deadline, EVE received the following bids:
- 2 bids for World Youth U14, U16, U18 Championships from the Italian Chess Federation and the Peruvian Chess Federation
- 1 bid for World Senior Championships from the Italian Chess Federation
- 2 bids for World Senior Team Championships from the German Chess Federation and the Brazilian Chess Federation
- 1 bid for World Amateur Chess Championships from the Chess Federation of Hong Kong
- 1 bid for World Cup U8, U10, U12 and for World Chess Championships U8, U10, U12 from the Colombian Chess Federation
The Chess Federation of Schengen, China expressed interest in submitting a bid to host the World Youth U16 Olympiad as the slot remained vacant after the initial bidding procedure closed.
Following the recent FIDE Council decisions (CM1-2025/16 and CM1-2025/17), the following provisional assignments were made for 2027:
- The Spanish Chess Federation will host the World Chess Championships in age categories U7, U9, and U11 as well as the World Rapid and Blitz Championships U8-U18
- The Turkish Chess Federation will organize the World Championships in age categories U13, U15, and U17.
These assignments remain provisional, pending successful inspections.
